Position Overview

We’re seeking a Product Design Engineer who is equal parts creative designer and technical engineer.

This is a hands-on, highly collaborative role involving ideation, CAD modeling, rendering, prototyping, testing, and production handoff.

You will help design high-performance golf products, accessories, components, and creative artifacts that reflect Killer Golf’s premium, innovative brand identity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop new golf products, components, and accessories from concept through production.
  • Create high-quality 3D models (surfaces and assemblies) using Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Rhino, or similar tools.
  • Produce photo-realistic renderings and visualizations using KeyShot or similar software.
  • Use Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign to create artwork, graphics, product labels, and presentation materials.
  • Build functional prototypes using in-house 3D printing or by working with machining and prototyping partners.
  • Optimize designs for manufacturability, tolerances, assembly, and finish quality.
  • Work closely with machining, engineering, and R&D teams to transition concepts into production-ready parts.
  • Conduct design testing and validation, including weight/CG analysis, functional testing, and iterative refinement.
  • Maintain detailed design documentation, including drawings, BOMs, CAD revisions, artwork files, and production specifications.
  • Participate in creative artifact development and brand experience design beyond standard engineering tasks.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience in product design, mechanical design, or prototype development.
  • Strong 3D modeling skills, including complex surfaces, assemblies, and tolerance-driven design.
  • Proficiency in KeyShot or similar rendering tools for visualization.
  • Strong visual and graphic design capability using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
  • Hands-on experience with 3D printing, CNC machining, prototyping, or rapid fabrication.
  • Solid understanding of materials, DFM/DFA principles, tolerances, surface finishing, and production processes.
  • Creative thinker with strong aesthetic sense and customer-first design intuition.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills; comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in golf equipment design, sports equipment development, or consumer product design.
  • Familiarity with CAM programming, jig/fixture design, or advanced prototyping tools.
  • Experience with anodizing, coating, or specialty finishing processes.
  • Passion for golf or an interest in performance-driven product development.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive salary based on experience.
  • Potential equity participation in a high-growth startup.
  • Creative, flexible work environment with substantial ownership over projects.
  • Opportunity to grow with the company as we scale nationally and internationally.
