Visual Art Teacher, Rosemount High School (1.0 FTE) 2026-2027

Rosemount High School is one of the top high schools in Minnesota that serves approx. 2300 students in the east part of Rosemount - Apple Valley - Eagan School District (District 196). Our school’s athletic teams and fine arts programs consistently rank top in the state. Our visual arts program is growing and we are looking for talented artist educators to join our team.

Positions Available:

1.0 FTE - 3D Visual Art Teaching Position (Sculpture, Ceramics, Photography, and Drawing)

Job summary:

1. Teach curriculum of Independent School District 196 and Rosemount High School
2. Work closely with the other Visual Art teacher and Performing Art colleagues in further developing curriculum, assessments, and fine art pathways
3. Help lead departmental activities, such as National Art Honor Society inductions and meetings
4. Maintain strong communication with staff, parents, and students
5. Carry out responsibilities as defined by the master contract and school administration

Qualifications:

Required:

1. Bachelor degree or higher in teacher licensure area
2. Licensed MN educator or ability to be licensed by time of employment
3. Love of teaching at the high school level
4. Commitment to educational equity and helping all students succeed academically
5. Desire to be a part of an incredible school and instructional team

Highly Desired (but not required):

1. Masters of Fine Arts or masters degree in a specific medium
2. Experience implementing Integrated Performance Assessments
3. Experience teaching at the high school level
4. Willingness to assist and/or lead the National Art Honor Society
5. Experience working with teaching artists, guest artists, and hosting residencies
6. Experience creating public art (murals, sculptures, etc. with a school community)
7. Experience teaching in a 1:1 setting (iPads) and willingness to adapt to new technologies (teaching apps, Schoology, Infinite Campus, etc)
8. Demonstrate the ability to be empathetic and supportive of all students while holding them to high expectations
9. Creative problem solver both in and out of the classroom
10. Experience working on a team or with an academic Professional Learning Community (PLC)
11. Experience making data based decisions
12. Experience teaching students with IEP and 504 adaptations and accommodations.
13. Commitment to developing the world's best workforce/ESSA and closing the achievement and graduation gap.
14. Experience working with diverse student populations.
15. Multi-lingual
