Position Summary:
We are looking for a full-time pharmacy compounding technician with at least one year of hands-on compounding experience in a retail/community pharmacy setting. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable, detail-oriented, flexible, and comfortable multitasking while maintaining compliance with USP standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Compound non-sterile medications in compliance with USP 795 and USP 800
- Prepare a wide range of formulations including: Capsules, Creams and ointments, Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT), Veterinary medications, Transdermal preparations, Scalp solutions and other topical formulations
- Maintain hazard room documentation and compliance paperwork
- Perform and document:
- Temperature logs
- Scale calibrations
- Cleaning and maintenance logs
- Assist with:
- Writing and updating compounding formulas
- Ordering APIs and excipients
- Work with and be familiar with suppliers such as Letco, Spectrum, PCCA, and Medisca
- Operate compounding equipment including: Ointment mill, EMP, Capsule machines, Precision scales
- Create new formulas based on reference formulas and prescriber needs
- Transition efficiently between tasks, including urgent compounds needed while patients are waiting
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a compounding pharmacy technician in a community/retail setting
- Strong working knowledge of USP 795 and USP 800
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills
- Ability to multitask and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and team-oriented mindset
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and patient-focused
Compensation:
- $26–$32 per hour, depending on experience
