What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machine Finishing Supervisor position at Independent Printing?
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Machine Finishing Supervisor is responsible for developing the skills and abilities of our Machine Finishing team members. The Machine Finishing Supervisor works closely with operators and Managers to support department needs in relation to workload, equipment, and personnel. This individual ensures the accuracy, quality, timeliness, and smooth operations across all Machine Finishing departments.
The duties in Machine Finishing include prepress and postpress trimming, die cutting, CST, folding, Moll/Signature fold/gluers, Forms Print/Finish operations. This individual also performs in a production capacity, operating machine finishing equipment as necessary. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the description below
- Lead and direct operators and assistants in all applicable departments
- Troubleshoot and resolve any job, equipment or personnel issues as needed
- Dictate job direction and workflow to best fit each department
- Ensure all team members are operating efficiently and producing quality product
- Work with Supervisors, Quality department, and other department Leads to uphold and execute our quality control processes and expectations
- Assess and track performance of team members
- Perform employee reviews and complete all required documentation for employee records
- Process daily timesheets reviewing for accuracy, job notes and performance details
- Establish and execute training programs specific to employee role and equipment
- Track department supply inventories
- Work closely with Production Manager to identify and resolve issues in job reporting data
- Participate in ROI and acquisition of new equipment or equipment repair
- Demonstrate a commitment to safety and perform job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures.
- Learn new equipment, processes and procedures quickly and pass on this knowledge to others.
- Must be able to function in a team environment under high stress, tight deadlines and interruptions.
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented. Displays good character, integrity and professional demeanor.
SCHEDULE:
Full-time, Salary, Monday – Friday 6:00am – 2:00pm; must be able to adjust hours to meet delivery demands
STARTING WAGE:
This is a salary position and beginning wage will be in line with experience.
