Job Purpose:
- The Med Tech (ALF) at the Independent Order of Odd Fellows is responsible for providing high-quality medical care and support to residents within an Assisted Living Facility. This role requires a compassionate and skilled individual who can administer medications, monitor health conditions, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure the well-being and safety of all residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer prescribed medications to residents and document medication administration accurately.
- Monitor residents' health status, including vital signs and symptoms, and report any changes to the healthcare team.
- Assist residents with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
- Collaborate with nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for each resident.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering a positive and caring environment.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to stay current with medical practices and regulations.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding medication administration and resident care.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to address concerns and provide information about health care services.
Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Certification as a Medical Technician or related field preferred.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working in an Assisted Living Facility (ALF) or similar healthcare environment.
- Experience in administering medications and monitoring patient health.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare protocols.
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Food Handlers Card
- HCA (Home Care Aide)
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
