Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in various settings, including hospitals, clinics, and long-term care facilities. This role is crucial in ensuring that patients receive the care they need while promoting their comfort and dignity. Experience in a Level I Trauma Center, teaching hospital, or with specific patient populations such as geriatrics or those requiring inpatient care is highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to patients to enhance their quality of life.
- Monitor and report changes in patients' conditions to nursing staff.
- Help with mobility and physical exercises as directed by healthcare professionals.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.
- Support medical staff during procedures in various departments such as OR, PICU, or emergency medicine when necessary.
- Document patient care activities accurately and timely.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Knowledge of hospital medicine practices and familiarity with emergency medicine protocols is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment within a teaching hospital or clinic setting.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact compassionately with patients of all ages, particularly geriatrics.
- Must be able to pass background checks and adhere to health regulations.
