What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Support Professional position at Independent living Association, Inc?
Responsible for working with consumers in activities of daily living and in the development of self-help and social skills. Responsible for monitoring and implementing goal activity for consumers. Responsible for maintaining a personalized and home-like atmosphere in the facility. Responsible for preparation of meals, and for administering medication. Participates in in-service training sessions on a regular basis. Perform other tasks as required.
Requirements: HS diploma/GED required. Valid driver’s license required. 1-3 years’ of experience working with the developmentally disabled is preferred. Those who do not have the trainings such as First Aid, CPR, AMAP, and SCIP will be required to pass and complete all within the first three months of employment.
