Role Description
The Apprentice Analyst role at Independent Identity is designed for individuals pursuing BCBA certification who are seeking intensive, real-world clinical experience with adults with complex needs. Apprentices participate in all aspects of behavior analytic service delivery, including assessment, skill acquisition programming, behavior support planning, functional communication training, tolerance training, and ongoing data-based decision-making. Under close BCBA supervision, apprentices develop competencies in visual analysis, program modification, treatment integrity, and systems-level thinking within a full-day service model. This role emphasizes the application of ABA principles beyond discrete sessions, with a focus on embedding instruction across naturally occurring contingencies to promote generalization and maintenance. Apprentices gain experience working with individuals with limited adaptive repertoires and high behavioral support needs, preparing them to design and supervise ethically sound, socially significant interventions. Qualifications
- Current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification required
- Currently enrolled in a master’s level program in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or a related field, actively pursuing BCBA certification
- Experience working with adult learners and/or individuals with developmental disabilities, particularly those with complex communication or behavioral support needs
- Demonstrated understanding of applied behavior analytic principles, including data collection, skill acquisition programming, and behavior reduction strategies
- Ability to implement programming with high treatment integrity and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current CPR/First Aid certification
- Completion of crisis management training (e.g., SafetyCare, CPI, or similar)
- Experience with functional communication training, tolerance training, and natural environment teaching
- Familiarity with criterion-referenced assessments (e.g., Essentials for Living)
