Position Overview

Independent Financial Group (IFG) is seeking an Alternative Investment Analyst to evaluate and analyze both existing and prospective alternative investment partners and products. This includes investment types such as real estate, private equity, hedge funds, fixed income, oil and gas, and more.

The Analyst will be responsible for assessing and monitoring investments, preparing reports, and presenting findings to the firm’s senior management. In this role, the Analyst will collaborate with a variety of stakeholders, including IFG’s Registered Representatives, internal department teams, and senior executives from investment sponsor firms.

Job Duties

  • Conduct thorough due diligence and analysis of alternative investment offerings and sponsors.
  • Prepare detailed internal due diligence reports for presentation to the Product Review Committee.
  • Maintain current knowledge of IFG’s alternative investment platform, monitor industry trends, and contribute to platform enhancements.
  • Respond to alternative product-related inquiries from IFG Advisors.
  • Serve as the primary expert resource for all DST offerings, including due diligence and inquiries.
  • Support the Alternative Investments Product Manager on departmental projects and priorities.
  • Produce and maintain alternative product sales and revenue reports.
  • Manage and deliver key communications and other components for new alternative product launches.
  • Organize and maintain due diligence filing systems, including correspondence and related records.
  • Provide outstanding customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a business-related field required.
    • 3–5 years of experience in an investment due diligence role; experience at a broker-dealer, pension, endowment, or investment sponsor fund is considered a plus.
    • Experience with a broad range of alternative investment strategies preferred.
    • Prior experience in real estate and/or alternative investment analysis required.
    • Securities licensing: Series 7 required.
    • Advanced degree and/or professional designation is a plus.
