Position Description:
The Trading and Operations Sr Associate will play a critical role in overseeing the trading and operational aspects for IAA’s advisor network. This position is responsible for executing and improving the trading processes and managing operational workflows to optimize advisor support. This role requires a blend of technical trading expertise, operational acumen, and a strong understanding of the RIA space. This role offers an opportunity to collaborate with various internal teams, such as Compliance, Marketing, Technology, and Relationship Management, to deliver consistent and accurate trading operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Trading & Operations
- Oversee the end-to-end implementation of investment strategies across custodians: LPL, Schwab & Fidelity.
- Execute trades across multiple custodial platforms in accordance with sponsor and advisor instructions.
- Monitor trade settlements, account transfers, and reconciliation of custodial activity.
- Support sponsors and advisors with model portfolio implementation, rebalancing, and account-level customizations.
- Assist with performance reporting and operational inquiries related to custodians and partner firms.
Billing, Compensation, & Financial Reporting
- Manage quarterly billing process through Black Diamond, including invoice preparation, adjustments, and reconciliation.
- Work with custodians and advisors to resolve billing-related discrepancies.
- Potential to prepare and deliver monthly Profit & Loss (P&L) summaries for advisors using QuickBooks, ensuring accuracy in categorization and reporting.
- Assist with financial reporting for advisors and internal leadership.
Advisor & Internal Support
- Serve as a point of contact for advisor inquiries related to trading, billing, and reporting.
- Collaborate with compliance, marketing & relationship management teams to improve workflows and reporting processes.
- Provide recommendations for operational efficiencies and enhancements to trading and billing systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience in RIA operations, trading, or portfolio administration.
- Experience with Black Diamond billing platform (preferred).
- Familiarity with custodial platforms (LPL, Schwab, Fidelity) and portfolio management/trading systems.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks (preferred) with experience generating financial reports.
