POSITION DESCRIPTION

   I.   Position: Assistive Technology refurbishment Specialist Part Time

  II.   Status: Part Time, Non Exempt

III.   Reports to: Director of Independent Living Services

 IV.   Position Expected Hours of Work:   This is a part-time position with up to 28 hours per week. Work is scheduled Monday through Friday with flexible hours between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., based on operational needs. Occasional evenings and weekends may also be requested on a voluntary basis.

  V.   Essential Functions of the Position: 

  1. Conduct assigned outreach and other activities and events to promote the development of agency’s AT re-use and repair program.
  2. Facilitate the intake, storage, repair, re-purposing and delivery of specialized assistive technology equipment.
  3. Coordinate with Department and Agency management teams to improve reach and quality of fee for service, part resale, and donated equipment related programming.
  4. Complete documentation required for these activities including, completing vendor reports, database documentation and billing requirements.
  5. Coordinate and monitor the quality of the program services provided.
  6. Oversee any facilities related vendors onsite and work with them if necessary.
  7. Use strong customer service skills to respond to requests, diagnose and initiate corrective actions.
  8. Requests quotes for projects or jobs from third party vendors.
  9. Responding to health and safety issues including cleaning up hazardous spills, and bodily fluids.
  10. Will maintain order in storage rooms and assist in moving equipment as needed.
  11. Assist in the training of new staff and act as a mentor to staff as assigned.
  12. Participate as a member of the Independent Living Services team by attending agency meetings and events.

 

 

 VI.   Work Environment

  1. Work environment is generally performed in an office setting with minimal to moderate noise level.
  2. Physical / Mental Activities, Requirements and Demands include: Standing, Walking, Sitting, Reading, Stooping, climbing Ladders, crawling in / through low spaces; •   Hand and Finger Dexterity, Clear Speech, Hearing/Listening, Reading and Writing, Clerical, basic Math and Analytical Skills, Judgment, Problem Solving and Decision Making; and some Heavy Lifting and Moving.
