What are the responsibilities and job description for the Diesel Mechanic Medium Duty and Semi position at Independence Truck Repair LLC?
Full time experienced heavy duty mechanic wanted. Must be capable of working on a variety of trucks and equipment. Applicant should have an adequate understanding of the functions and components regarding but not limited to: air and hydraulic systems, medium to heavy duty brakes, medium to heavy duty suspensions and gas/diesel engines. Dependent on your experience level, your role will consist of:
- Completing regular maintenance and oil changes
- Independently diagnosing and repairing jobs assigned to you
- Accurately requesting and recording parts used per job
- Providing daily updates on jobs in progress
- Able to utilize and interpret various diagnostic softwares (J-Pro, Cummins Insight and Mitchell)
Requirements
- Mechanic must provide own basic hand and air tools
- Proficient with driving manual transmission vehicles
- Minimum of 1 HD mechanic certification
- Physically able to lift up to 50lbs
- Maintain a relatively clean and organized workspace
- Must have reliable transportation
