As a leader in disability advocacy, the Independence Seekers Project aims to challenge ableism and redefine community through a support network built by those with disabilities. Alongside peers and allies, we aspire to create a more inclusive community dedicated to interdependence.
We are looking for multiple new team members to be a part of the staff. I'm a 37 year old Social Worker and Disability Justice activist. Some responsibilities include helping with day to day tasks, helping with personal care tasks, and clerical work. The hours are flexible and the pay starts at $16.00 an hour.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for a range of activities which will assist this organization's leadership. In this position, you should feel comfortable coordinating calendar appointments, managing communications, and planning events, as necessary.
Responsibilities
- Personal care tasks including dressing, toileting, bathing, light cleaning
- Manage all incoming and outgoing communications
- Coordinate and schedule calendar appointments
- Schedule travel
- Planning events
Qualifications
- Highschool diploma
- College experience is preferred
- Ability to handle multiple tasks while staying organized
- Driver's license and background check required
