Essential Job Functions
- Examine, Diagnose, treat , provide care to patients
- Direct, coordinate or supervise patient care activities of nursing or support services
- Order and interpret the results of tests
- Prescribe medication or treatment regimens and therapies
- Collaborate with health care professionals to plan and provide treatment
- Develop medical treatment plans
- Conduct discharge planning
- Participate in inpatient treatment teams
- Consultations
- Documentation in EMR
- Advise and educate patients and families on conditions and treatments
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications/Experience
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
- Four (4) to seven (7) years of internship and residency training, pertaining to specialty field.
- Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment, and knowledge of legal aspects and liability of nursing practice.
- Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience.
- Two (2) to Four (4) years’ experience in psychiatry.
- Experience in Healthcare setting.
- Current medical license in the state of Pennsylvania.
- Successful completion of the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) or the Comprehensive Osteopathic Medical Licensing Examination of the United States (COMLEX-USA).
- Certification by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS).
- DEA License
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need (rotate shifts, standby, on-call, etc.).
- Travel may be expected locally between System locations.
