Job Summary/Overall Objectives
Barista will be responsible for crafting high-quality beverages, maintaining cleanliness and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Shifts: vary between 5am-4pm M-F
Essential Job Functions
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks and beverages according to established recipes and stands.
- Operate the POS systems for order processing and cash handling.
- Provide outstanding customer service by greeting customers warmly, taking orders accurately, and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
- Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including workstations, equipment, and dining areas to meet food safety standards.
- Assist with food preparation and serving as needed, ensuring adherence to food handling guidelines.
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure timely service without compromising quality.
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including basic math calculations for change and sales reporting.
- Collaborate with team members to create a positive work environment and enhance overall customer service.
- Other duties as assigned.
Competency and Experience [Knowledge, Skills and Abilities]
Required Qualifications/Experience
- High School Diploma, GED or higher level of education.
- One (1) to two (2) years of barista experience or background in food service industry.
- Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment.
- Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience.
- Familiarity with POS or Micros POS systems preferred.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and retail math calculations.
Preferred Qualifications/Experience
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in food nutritional services preferred.
- Experience in Healthcare setting.
License, Certification & Clearances
- ServSafe required
- Act 34-PA Criminal Record Check from the PA State Police system
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
- Incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need (rotate shifts, standby, on-call, etc.).
- Travel may be expected locally between System locations.
