Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities to ensure compliance with facility rules and regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections of the facility, including surveillance through CCTV systems.
- Respond to emergencies and incidents, providing first aid and CPR when necessary.
- Maintain order by effectively managing conflicts among inmates using conflict management techniques.
- Prepare detailed reports on incidents, inmate behavior, and daily activities for record-keeping purposes.
- Collaborate with law enforcement personnel and other staff to ensure a secure environment.
- Participate in ongoing training programs to enhance skills in security protocols and emergency response.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in law enforcement or military experience is preferred.
- Strong understanding of security procedures and conflict management strategies.
- Ability to operate CCTV equipment and monitor surveillance feeds effectively.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is highly desirable.
- Excellent report writing skills for documenting incidents accurately.
- Strong communication skills to interact with inmates, staff, and external agencies effectively.
- Physical fitness to perform duties that may require standing for long periods or responding quickly in emergencies.
