Salon Manager
Independence Community College is seeking a highly motivated and experienced part -time (morning)
Salon Manager to oversee the salon's daily operations.
Position Overview
The Salon Manager will be responsible for overseeing aspects of the salon's operations, including
ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining financial records. The successful candidate will have
excellent communication and leadership skills, as well as a passion for the beauty industry. The Salon
Manager will also serve as a substitute as needed. The position will begin on August 9th and with
Instructor Training beginning no later than July 31st.
Job Responsibilities
• Ensure the salon is clean and well-maintained
• Serve as a substitute for instructors as needed
• Develop and implement marketing strategies to attract new clients and retain existing ones
• Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed in collaboration with Director and
instructors
• Maintain accurate financial records and prepare reports as needed
• Stay up to date with industry trends and make recommendations for improvements to services
and products
Detailed Responsibilities
• Create and implement marketing strategies to attract new clients and retain current ones in
collaboration with Director and Instructor
• Ensure the salon's cleanliness, organization, and maintenance at all times
• Control inventory and place orders for supplies as necessary
• Handle customer complaints promptly and professionally
• Record financial transactions accurately and generate reports as needed
• Stay informed about industry trends and suggest improvements to services and products
• Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork and collaboration
Requirements and Skills
• Kansas Cosmetology Instructor License
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in the beauty industry
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Knowledge of industry trends and best practices
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and salon management software
