The Senior Foundation Program Specialist engages in activities that support and promote the goals, strategic direction and overall purpose of the Independence Blue Cross (IBX) Foundation, a nationally recognized corporate foundation and regional funder in southeastern Pennsylvania: Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties. Established in 2011, the IBX Foundation leads initiatives to improve healthcare access, strengthen the health workforce, and enable solutions for better community health.
DUTIES:
Reporting to the Manager, Foundation Initiatives, the Senior Foundation Program Specialist will:
· Advance health workforce initiatives with a focus on leadership and innovation in nursing and nursing education programs.
· Lead the preparation and presentation of health workforce information and materials for governance meetings, executive and leadership communication, and speaking opportunities.
· Research ideas and recommend approaches to fund and expand health workforce initiatives and broaden program impact.
· Play a key role in planning and implementing health workforce program changes.
· Support and lead multiple related projects for external stakeholder engagement.
· Collaborate regularly to meet deliverables of the IBX Foundation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS). Public health, health policy, or nursing is preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working with grants and/or non-profit program administration or related experience. Experience with philanthropy strategy and program planning is strongly preferred.
- Ability to analyze information, think strategically, ask questions and solve problems
- Knowledge of and interest in community health
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a professional environment
- Must take initiative, have exceptional self-management skills and attention to detail
- Must be a team player, eager to take on challenges to advance skills and support the success of the organization
- Concrete experience working with and understanding of cyclical processes
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams)
