The Vice President of Revenue Cycle is a senior leader responsible for driving the strategy, performance, and scalability of the revenue cycle function across a growing ophthalmology platform. This executive will oversee end-to-end revenue cycle operations, including professional and surgical billing, collections, accounts receivable, denial management, and patient financial services. Working closely with executive leadership, finance, operations, and practice leaders, this individual will help improve cash performance, strengthen processes, support growth, and enhance the patient financial experience.
About the Role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all revenue cycle operations across the organization, including billing, collections, AR, denials, and patient financial services.
- Develop and execute strategies to improve cash collections, reduce AR days, increase clean claim performance, and optimize reimbursement.
- Build scalable processes and infrastructure to support practice growth, operational standardization, and integration initiatives.
- Partner with executive leadership to align revenue cycle priorities with broader financial and operational goals.
- Monitor and report on key revenue cycle metrics, trends, risks, and performance improvement opportunities.
- Use data and reporting to identify gaps, improve workflows, and strengthen revenue integrity.
- Lead, develop, and mentor revenue cycle team members in a high-accountability, performance-driven environment.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, payer, and internal policy requirements.
- Support the implementation and optimization of revenue cycle systems, tools, and best practices.
- Collaborate effectively with payers, vendors, physicians, operators, and other internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 10 years of healthcare revenue cycle and/or patient financial services experience required.
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience required.
- Experience in ophthalmology, a multi-site physician practice, ASC environment, or PE-backed MSO strongly preferred.
