About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Paid Search Specialist with experience in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry to join our digital marketing team. This role is ideal for someone who understands the unique challenges of marketing in regulated environments and is passionate about leveraging paid search to drive meaningful results for healthcare and pharma clients.
You will be responsible for developing strategic paid search campaigns across Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising (Bing Ads), managing day-to-day execution, and serving as a trusted advisor to clients. Your ability to balance compliance requirements with performance-driven strategies will be key to success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Search Strategy & Planning
- Collaborate with healthcare and pharmaceutical clients to define objectives, audience targets, and performance KPIs.
- Conduct keyword research and competitive analysis specific to therapeutic areas, patient needs, and HCP audiences.
- Ensure all strategies comply with industry regulations (e.g., FDA, HIPAA, PhRMA guidelines).
- Evolve and enhance paid search offerings by exploring emerging formats such as AI Overviews, conversational search, and alternative search platforms (e.g., Amazon, Reddit, YouTube, and voice search).
Campaign Development & Execution
- Build, launch, and manage paid search campaigns across Google Ads and Bing Ads.
- Develop tailored messaging strategies for different audiences (e.g., patients, providers, caregivers).
- Maintain structured campaigns that allow for efficient budget management, optimization, and reporting.
Monitoring, Optimization & Compliance
- Monitor campaign pacing, budget delivery, and key performance indicators daily.
- Perform regular optimizations (bidding, keyword adjustments, ad copy testing) while maintaining compliance standards.
- Collaborate with medical/legal/regulatory (MLR) teams when required for content approvals.
Measurement & Reporting
- Analyze and report on campaign performance, providing clear and actionable insights.
- Track conversions and engagement metrics aligned to client goals (e.g., appointment bookings, HCP engagement, patient education).
- Present results to clients and provide strategic recommendations for ongoing improvement.
Client & Internal Collaboration
- Serve as a client-facing point of contact for paid search initiatives.
- Communicate campaign performance, opportunities, and strategies in a clear, professional manner.
- Build trust and long-term relationships with stakeholders across marketing, brand, compliance, and IT teams.
- Collaborate closely with account and finance teams to ensure accurate and timely billing, budget tracking, and forecasting for client campaigns.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, finance, statistics or related field
- At least 4 years’ experience in search engine marketing
- Extensive experience with Google Ads & Bing Ad Center
- Strong analytical and online research skills. Understanding of analytics tools (such as Google Analytics, WebTrends and Adobe)
- Ability to explain complex technical information to non-technical individuals.
- Proficiency in Excel
- Must be detail oriented, have exceptional organizational skills and multi-tasking capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written skills with comfort to speak face to face with clients & partners.
- Ability to establish procedures that contribute to achieving department and/or corporate objectives.
- Healthcare, Pharmaceutical or regulated industry experience
- Preferred experience in Search Engine Optimization (SEO and Paid Social (Facebook, Twitter & LinkedIn)
