We are seeking an experienced Powerline Asset Inspector to support the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of electrical powerline assets across an assigned coverage area. In this field‑based role, you’ll play a critical part in maintaining asset integrity and network performance by conducting high‑quality inspections, leveraging advanced inspection technologies, and delivering accurate, timely reporting.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver powerline asset inspection programs safely, accurately, and within agreed timeframes, procedures, and budget requirements
- Conduct inspections using digital and specialist technologies including digital cameras, acoustic cameras, corona cameras, and other inspection tools
- Capture clear photographic evidence of defects and update asset systems in accordance with quality and regulatory standards
- Prepare and submit timely reports on inspection progress, findings, and work practices for both internal stakeholders and customers
- Actively contribute to personal and team health, safety, and wellbeing outcomes
- Use available data to prioritise inspection activities, optimise routing, and schedule site visits efficiently
- Engage professionally with customer representatives, landowners, and members of the public
- Perform periodic communications checks, visual checks, and camera‑aided checks of installed EFD units
Qualifications & Experience
- Technical Diploma or Trade Certification in Electrical Technology, Power Systems, Utilities, Engineering Technology, or a related field (preferred)
- Equivalent combinations of education, vocational training, and relevant field experience will be considered
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in powerline or electrical asset inspection, ideally within power generation or distribution
- Hands‑on experience using inspection technologies such as infrared cameras, drones, and GPS mapping software
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong working knowledge of electrical systems, components, and safety standards
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to accurately document inspection findings
- Strong problem‑solving and critical thinking skills
- Proven ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel extensively
