Lead Childcare Daycare Operations Lead $18 - $20 hourly

JOB OVERVIEW:

Incredible Kids Daycare Center Inc, located in Wakefield, Bronx NY 10466, is seeking an energetic, dependable, dedicated and highly organized Lead Childcare / Daycare Operations Lead to join our vibrant in-home group family daycare center and oversee daily operations within our Early Childhood programs.

This is not simply an assistant childcare position. We are looking for a strong childcare professional who enjoys working directly with children, parents and staff, but is also ready to grow into a leadership role. The Operations Lead will initially divide their time between direct childcare responsibilities and assisting with daily program operations.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about early childhood education, possess strong leadership skills, and have a deep commitment to creating a positive, engaging space for children and families alike. As a key leader, you will drive the quality of care and educational experiences while maintaining smooth operational workflows.

CHILDCARE LEAD DUTIES:

• Foster a nurturing environment, provide safe and developmentally appropriate care where children can thrive.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations. Help maintain required childcare documentation. Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws, health and safety regulations, including first aid, pediatric first aid, and CPR protocols.
• Support childcare staff in delivering high-quality care, including infant, toddler, preschool and after-school care, activities and supervision.
• Assist with daily classroom activities, ensuring they align with developmental best practices and curriculum standards.
• Help coordinate staff assignments, classroom coverage and assist with routine classroom and safety walkthroughs.
• Assist with children's arrival and dismissal procedures, staff breaks and coverage and support with implementation of daily schedules and activities.
• Communicate professionally with parents regarding routine matters.
• Help maintain an organized, clean and inspection-ready environment.
• Identify compliance or safety concerns and immediately report significant concerns to the owner.
• Monitor staff attendance, punctuality and daily responsibilities.
• Assist with supplies and inventory.
• Assist with preparing and serving meals.
• Help reinforce program policies and staff expectations.
• Document incidents and operational concerns appropriately.
• Assist the owner with maintaining consistent program operations such as conducting parent tours, timesheet accuracy for payroll processing, updating daily attendance records, recording daily meal counts and pick-up of after school children.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• Experience working with children across various age groups including infants, toddlers, pre-schoolers and school-age children.
• Experience in daycare center operations or daycare experience is preferred.
• Shows up consistently, on-time and is dependable.
• Notices what needs to be done without constantly waiting for instructions. Can solve routine problems independently.
• Remains calm when problems occur.
• Can respectfully hold co-workers accountable.
• Excellent communication skills for parent engagement and staff coordination. Communicates professionally with children, parents, staff and vendors.
• Understands that documentation and compliance matter is very critical.
• Takes initiative while respecting policies and authority.
• Protects children's safety above everything else.
• Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles and classroom management techniques.
• Proficiency in child supervision, behavior management, and caregiving best practices.
• Ability to lead a team effectively while fostering a collaborative work environment.
• Knowledge of mandated reporting laws and compliance standards for childcare centers.
• Certifications such as first aid, pediatric first aid, CPR, special education training or experience working with individuals with disabilities are highly desirable
• Familiarity with childhood development instruction methods and working with children with diverse needs.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
