What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable (“AP/AR”) Specialist position at InCommercial, Inc?
Role Description: As the Accounts Payable and Receivable Specialist, you will manage full-cycle accounts payable and receivable functions for our growing commercial real estate business. You will sort mail, enter all payables and cash receipts into the PM/Accounting Software, set up new vendors, and maintain current vendor data. Further, you will prepare 1099s and assist in various administrative accounting tasks as your schedule allows, such as researching payables inquiries and providing audit support. To be successful, you should have strong attention to detail, be self-motivated, highly organized, and able to work with little to no supervision.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Shall include, but not be limited to:
- Checking and sorting mail daily.
- Entering all cash receipts daily and making physical deposits at various banks as necessary.
- Entering all payables daily (from email and mail).
- Monthly expense reporting reconciliations (booking Corp Card charges).
- Investigating and resolving payables and receivables discrepancies with Property Managers and Vendors.
- Leading the preparation of 1099s.
- Other ad-hoc projects, such as assisting with annual audit preparations, pulling support for CAM and RET reconciliations, and contributing to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
- Creating Job Aids
- Regularly analyze and report your successes.
- Any other assigned task in the office (preparing FedEx shipments, partner K-1 packages, etc.)
REQUIREMENTS:
- Yardi experience preferred
- Able to work in a team environment and proficient with computers.
- Comfortable with basic Excel
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Analytical with attention to detail
- Exceptional organization skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet important deadlines
- Preferred two years of Real Estate Experience
- Preferred Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable experience.
SCHEDULE:
- Regular business hours M-F 9 am – 5 pm and adjusted as needed.
WORK LOCATION:
- This position is on-site at 117 N Jefferson St, Chicago, IL 60661. Remote work access may be approved by the Controller on a conditional basis for a specific duration.
