The IT Infrastructure Manager is responsible for the strategic leadership, operational management, and continuous improvement of the organization’s IT infrastructure. Reporting directly to the Director of Information Technology, this role oversees the IT Systems Administration and Helpdesk teams, manages the relationship and performance of the Managed Service Provider (MSP), and ensures the reliability, security, and scalability of all IT infrastructure systems. The IT Infrastructure Manager will drive technology initiatives, enforce best practices, and ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards.

Essential Job Functions:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the IT Systems Administrators and Helpdesk Technicians, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team culture.
- Set clear goals, provide regular feedback, and support professional development for direct reports.
- Oversee workload distribution, ticket escalation, and ensure timely resolution of technical issues.
- Architect, implement, and maintain robust IT infrastructure, including servers, workstations, network devices, cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure, M365), and specialized systems supporting business operations.
- Ensure proactive lifecycle management of all IT assets, including patch management, access control, and audit trail compliance.
- Oversee the administration and optimization of cloud services (Azure AD, Intune, MDM, Teams, SharePoint) and on-premises systems.
- Develop and enforce IT policies, SOPs, and documentation to support operational excellence and regulatory compliance (GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, ITIL, etc.).
- Lead strategic IT planning and contribute to the technology roadmap.
- Develop, test, and maintain comprehensive disaster recovery plans with defined RTOs (Recovery Time Objectives) and RPOs (Recovery Point Objectives) appropriate for GMP manufacturing operations
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the Managed Service Provider, ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met and issues are escalated/resolved efficiently.
- Coordinate and evaluate MSP performance, manage contracts, and drive continuous improvement in service delivery.
- Liaise with hardware/software suppliers and external consultants as needed.
- Ensure the security and integrity of IT systems, including endpoint protection, cybersecurity awareness, and incident response.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Collaborate closely with the Managed Service Provider’s Cybersecurity MDR program to guarantee rapid and effective incident and threat response.
- Oversee data integrity, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
- Collaborate with business units (operations, engineering, quality, etc.) to deliver technology solutions that drive operational excellence.
- Lead or participate in IT projects, including infrastructure upgrades, system migrations, and process improvements.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, translating technical concepts into business value.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 8 years of progressive IT experience, including 3 years in a leadership or management role.
- Demonstrated expertise in IT infrastructure management, cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure/M365), and regulated environments.
- Understanding of GxP regulations, data integrity principles, and pharmaceutical quality systems.
- Understanding of equipment qualification protocols (IQ/OQ/PQ) and their IT infrastructure dependencies
- Strong knowledge of computer system validation (CSV) and 21 CFR Part 11 compliance.
- Proven experience in IT vendor management and technical contract oversight.
- Experience managing and developing technical teams.
- Strong knowledge of ITIL, GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, and other relevant frameworks.
- Proven experience managing MSPs and vendor relationships.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or other regulated industries.
- Knowledge of process control systems, SCADA, or other operational technology (OT) environments
- Experience with automation tools, scripting (e.g., PowerShell), and cybersecurity frameworks.
- Highly Preferred: Microsoft Azure Administrator/Solutions Architect, ITIL Foundation or higher
- Preferred: PMP, GAMP 5, ISPE certifications
- Valuable: Security certifications (Security , CISSP), Microsoft 365 Certified
