Overview
The Floating Direct Support Professional (DSP) Reports directly to the Nursing Supervisor and Residential Manager. Responsible for ensuring quality residential services are provided according to the philosophy of ICC. Provide support for individuals living in residential group homes, supporting individuals in pursuing their personal interests and following their individual service plan (ISP). Duties are based on the assigned shift and the direction of the residential managers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Follows the daily activity schedule, encouraging individuals' participation and providing support needed to participate in activities both in the group home environment and in the community.
Accurate, thorough, and timely documentation of services provided according to ISP, including daily progress notes, incident reports, medication administration record (MAR), monthly reports, and quarterly reports as assigned.
Completes internal documentation as needed on intake and output, vitals, nutrition, activity calendars, communication logs, etc.
Administers medications according to physician's instructions and orders using the Quick Mar system.
Provides all supports identified necessary in each individual's service plan. Maintains current knowledge of individuals' medical needs, intervention plans, exceptional needs, etc.
Follows all guidelines, regulations, and policies in partnership with their supervisor and ICC leadership. Working knowledge of HCBS, human rights, HIPAA, and regulatory requirements.
Completes housekeeping tasks and supports individuals with activities of daily living, including but not limited to: maintaining cleanliness standards throughout the home, completing laundry, preparing meals, supporting with personal care and grooming tasks, etc. All areas of the group home environment should be clean and well maintained.
Monitor premises to ensure no weapons, alcohol, drugs are present. Notify the residential manager and executive director if any contraband are found.
Adheres to mandated reporter guidelines. Reports any indications of abuse or neglect immediately to the Residential Manager, Nursing Supervisor, Billing and Compliance Specialist, and Executive Director.
Follows written procedures when handling emergency medical crisis situations, severe weather, loss of utilities, missing persons, severe injuries and reporting abuse or neglect.
Attends all trainings and meetings as required. Maintains up-to-date certificates as identified necessary.
Provide coverage for shifts across various programs, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts as needed.
Adapt quickly to different environments, individuals, and team dynamics as assigned
Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED.
Completion of CPR and first aid certification class.
Completion of medication administration class with certification.
Valid Virginia driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
Clear TB skin test or assessment.
Ability to lift 50lbs and notification of previous job injuries.
Ability to stay awake and alert throughout the entire scheduled shift.
Conflict resolution skills and professional disposition.
Good writing, communication, and organizational skills.
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.
1 Year or more of Intellectual or developmental disability experience highly desirable.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
