This role offers the chance to work closely with attorneys on meaningful cases while developing advanced litigation and case-management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage personal injury case files from early investigation through resolution, including both pre-litigation and litigation stages.
- Draft and prepare discovery responses, propound written discovery, and assist with document production.
- Prepare complaints, motions, subpoenas, and other litigation-related filings.
- Handle filing and service of documents in Los Angeles County and nearby jurisdictions.
- Coordinate deposition scheduling, expert notices, and other litigation deadlines.
- Maintain detailed and accurate calendars for court dates, discovery cutoffs, and attorney obligations.
- Communicate with clients, medical providers, experts, and opposing counsel to facilitate case progress.
- Assist with trial preparation, including exhibit organization, witness coordination, and preparation of trial binders.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date case records while ensuring compliance with procedural rules and firm protocols.
- Support attorneys with daily litigation tasks and contribute to developing case strategy as matters advance.
- Prior experience in personal injury or civil litigation case management is strongly preferred.
- Solid understanding of California civil procedure and court filing requirements.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced practice.
- Proficiency with case management software, calendaring tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a legal team.
