Data Governance Engineer

Position: Data Governance Engineer

Compensation: $45 - $60 /hour, depending on experience

Location: Lenexa, Kansas

Inceed has partnered with a great company to help find a skilled Data Governance Engineer to join their team!

Join a leading specialty contractor specializing in construction and engineering solutions for non-residential projects. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a team dedicated to aligning data procedures to improve processes and make informed business decisions. This role is open due to team expansion and offers a chance to take on leadership and mentorship responsibilities in a thriving, employee-owned company.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

• Design and maintain data governance architecture within Microsoft Fabric
• Translate governance policies into technical configurations
• Develop governance patterns and reusable templates
• Collaborate with data owners and security teams
• Ensure compliance with data security and privacy regulations
• Mentor junior engineers in governance best practices
• Build automation scripts for governance configurations
• Oversee metadata management and data lineage tracking

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
• 7 years of experience in data engineering or governance
• Deep hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric
• Proficient in designing RBAC and security models
• Experience with automation scripting (PowerShell, Python, or SQL)

Nice to Have Skills & Experience:

• Experience in regulated industries like construction or healthcare
• Familiarity with modern data architectures
• Working knowledge of data quality frameworks
