Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Perform intake assessments, including taking vital signs and documenting medical history.
- Administer medications as prescribed and provide basic life support when necessary.
- Maintain accurate patient records using EHR systems.
- Conduct ICD coding for billing purposes.
- Provide exceptional patient service by addressing inquiries and concerns.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Support outpatient and inpatient services, including emergency medicine and geriatrics.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a clinical setting such as internal medicine, or urgent care preferred.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and ICD coding is essential.
- Familiarity with EHR systems for efficient documentation and record keeping.
- Ability to perform basic life support (BLS) and administer medications safely.
- Experience in hospital settings, including Level I or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work well under pressure in fast-paced environments such as emergency medicine or PICU settings.
