The Florida fiber market has been a graveyard for sales leaders for five years. One operator is done accepting that.
The Opportunity
New leadership. Rebuilt team. Restaffed from the ground up. A $100M region that has been underplayed for too long, with a leadership group that finally has the conviction and the backing to go after it properly.
The network is owned outright. Not leased. Not farmed out. In a market where every competitor is pitching the same product off someone else's infrastructure, that changes the conversation in the room.
They just launched a product no competitor in this market is offering. The pipeline is there, the market is underdeveloped, and the only thing missing is the director to drive it. That is this hire.
The Role
Three channels. One owner.
- Bulk MDU is the core. Communities, HOAs, new development. You protect the book, add new contracts, and personally lead the strategic closes. This is a hunting brief, not a renewal management role
- Commercial SMB is the growth channel. High revenue, room to scale, comp restructuring in progress that rewards the right deals not just the volume
- Residential door to door is the third piece. Focused footprint, direct sales team, you coach and lift performance across all three
You own all three and you are accountable for all three. That is the scope.
Why This Is Different
This is not a Comcast. There are no thousand VPs above you and no layers of bureaucracy between the work you do and the people who notice it. The leader you report to came from the biggest names in the industry and took this role specifically because of what is being built and who is backing it.
At a platform this size, good people do not get managed. They get backed, they get resourced, and when the organisation needs to grow, they get pulled into it. The directors who perform here do not wait for a seat at the table. The table gets moved to where they are.
This is the kind of role that in two years either confirms you were the right person or confirms you were not. If you are the right person, the trajectory is real. There is no ceiling dressed up as a career path. There is just what you build and where it takes you.
What You Will Walk Into
The comp plan is being rebuilt right now and you will have direct input into how it is structured. You will assess the current team and hire where needed. You will help shape the commercial strategy for a region that has been under punching its weight for years.
This is not a role you inherit and manage. It is a role you build.
What the Role Requires
- Bulk MDU experience above team level. You have personally been in the room for the close, not managed a team that was. You can talk specific deals, the economics, the red lines, and how you won
- A track record of leading and developing sales teams where the numbers moved because of you. You can point to what changed and why
- The credibility to walk into a property owner, HOA board, or developer meeting and control the room without senior leadership holding your hand
- SMB experience is a plus but not a barrier. Bulk leadership depth and genuine hunger to broaden will be considered
- Florida market knowledge helps but the right person without it will still be looked at. Relocation is on the table for the candidate who is worth it
What This Role Is Not For
- Candidates who have sat above bulk deals at team level but have never personally closed one. That will come out in the first conversation
- Operators who need everything settled before they perform. The comp plan is mid-restructure. That is the mandate, not a problem that gets fixed before you start
- Directors who manage through reports and calls. The team is in the field. You need to be with them
Compensation
- Base $160,000-$180,000 with flex for the right professional
- Performance bonus up to 20% of base
- Non-commission leadership role
- 401(k) with match
- Highly competitive healthcare, dental and vision
- Hybrid, Florida HQ. Two set days in office, field presence expected beyond that
