Duties
- Assist with the operation and monitoring of multiple water and wastewater treament systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with environmental regulations.
- Support equipment repair, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance of pumps, valves, filters, and other treatment plant machinery.
- Collect data on system performance, water quality parameters, and operational metrics for analysis and reporting purposes.
- Help operate heavy equipment such as industrial pumps and construction tools safely following all safety protocols and PPE requirements.
- Participate in the inspection of wastewater treatment processes, including biological treatment units and chemical dosing systems.
- Contribute to environmental compliance efforts by documenting procedures, performing basic math calculations, and supporting regulatory reporting.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or coursework related to water/wastewater treatment is a plus.
- Basic mechanical knowledge with an understanding of plumbing, equipment repair, and industrial pump maintenance.
- Experience working with water or wastewater treatment plants is preferred but not required; on-the-job training will be provided.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation, construction experience, or tanker driving is advantageous.
- Strong analysis skills with the ability to perform basic math calculations accurately.
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely, perform heavy lifting tasks regularly, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations related to water systems and wastewater management is beneficial.
- Excellent attention to detail for data collection, system inspections, and maintenance documentation.
- Commitment to safety practices including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
