Our Main Drives facility in downtown Springfield is seeking a Senior Teller who not only provides exceptional customer service but also plays a key leadership role on the teller line. Your Role as a Senior Teller, you will serve as a frontline expert, providing exceptional service to customers while supporting the Branch Manager in supervising teller operations. In addition to performing all standard teller duties, you will help lead the teller team, promote operational accuracy, coach staff, and ensure smooth daily operations at our Main Drives facility.

Key Responsibilities
Requires ability to use good judgment in making routine and complex decisions; Must have excellent customer service skills with the ability to sell products and Services: Ability to accurately handle large sums of cash; Must be goal oriented and able to achieve individual goals as well as work as a team player to achieve departmental and/or Bank goals; Flexibility is necessary with the ability to adapt in an ever-changing environment.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in all Microsoft Office programs, with an ability to quickly learn other bank-related programs.
Physical Demands
Employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
Salary
Starting at $18.00/hour plus incentive (commensurate with experience)

Requirements

Key Responsibilities
- Perform all duties of a Teller, including processing deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, credit card payments, and other customer transactions.
- Greet customers in a courteous, professional manner; assist with account questions, holds, and service needs.
- Maintain and balance an individual cash drawer; open a teller station daily to support staffing fluctuations.
- Participate in cross-selling by identifying additional products/services and referring customers to appropriate personnel.
- Assist the Branch Manager in supervising and supporting teller staff in accordance with bank policies and applicable laws.
- Participate in interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new teller staff.
- Assist with annual and as-needed performance evaluations for teller staff, providing feedback and recommendations.
- Conduct meaningful coaching sessions to develop teller confidence in identifying referral opportunities.
- Serve as a mentor and role model, supporting career growth and readiness for advancement.
- Assist in preparing and distributing the weekly work schedule for drive-up staff, ensuring adequate coverage during peak traffic times. Operational Oversight
- Manage the reserve cash vault, ensuring adherence to dual-control procedures.
- Prepare and receive cash shipments; distribute teller cash orders; balance reserve cash daily according to branch standards.
- Approve checks for payment and perform supervisor overrides as needed.
- Assist with bi-monthly or random teller drawer audits to maintain compliance with bank guidelines.
- Customer-centric attitude with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Cash handling experience required; previous bank experience preferred.
- Detail-oriented, with consistent accuracy in transactions and documentation.
- Tech-savvy, comfortable with digital banking systems and Microsoft Office.
- Leadership qualities, including sound judgment, accountability, and the ability to coach others.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; one year or more of teller or customer service experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations accurately.
- Excellent customer service ability, including identifying and referring to financial products.
- Ability to use good judgment when making routine and complex decisions.
