Summary: The Independent Living Facilitator II (ILF II) provides essential support, care, and companionship to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, who have additional health and safety needs under a Health and Safety Waiver (HSW) from the Department of Developmental Services (DDS). This role involves assisting with daily activities, household tasks, and community involvement, tailored to each participant's unique needs and preferences. The ILF II position offers a chance to make a meaningful impact by helping individuals achieve greater independence and improve their quality of life.
Essential Functions*:
- Assist participants with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor and support the health and well-being of participants, including medication administration and attending medical appointments.
- Help with meal preparation, grocery shopping, housekeeping, and laundry.**
- Assist with budgeting and paying bills.
- Encourage and facilitate participation in community activities, social events, and recreational pursuits.
- Provide or arrange for transportation to appointments, activities, and community outings as needed.
- Implement individualized support plans, including behavioral intervention strategies.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of support provided, including daily notes, incident reports, and financial logs.
- Participate in training sessions and workshops to maintain and enhance skills.
- Must maintain CPR/First Aid certification.

** General household work not related to the care of the Participant does not exceed 20% of the total weekly hours worked. The responsibilities of the ILF shall vary based upon the needs of the agency and the needs and preferences of the Participant(s) but shall not exceed the limitations of a personal attendant under wage order 15 of the California Code.
Qualifications:Required Education and Experience

Education:
- High School Diploma
Experience:
- 1-2 years of direct care experience with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), including experience managing behavioral, medical, and/or mental health issues.
- 1-2 years of direct care experience utilizing medical equipment like Hoyer lifts, catheters, and feeding tubes.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Education:
- AA Degree in a related field
- CPR/First Aid Certification
Experience:
- Previous experience as a behavior technician or CNA

- Must be able to verify employment eligibility under USCIS I-9 requirements
