We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sushi Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, maki rolls, and specialty items, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Select fresh ingredients and handle raw fish with proper techniques to ensure freshness and safety.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate orders efficiently during busy service times.
- Develop new sushi recipes and presentation styles to enhance menu offerings.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as needed to prevent shortages.
- Educate team members on sushi preparation techniques and uphold standards of excellence in food presentation.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or similar culinary role specializing in Japanese cuisine.
- Knowledge of sushi preparation techniques, knife skills, and ingredient handling.
- Strong understanding of food safety standards and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to communicate effectively within a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with curriculum development or teaching culinary skills is a plus.
- Familiarity with culinary arts including cooking, plating, and presentation aesthetics.
