Job Role: Animal Compliance Specialist
Job Type: 3 months Contract
Location: Remote (Local Boston-area candidates preferred)
Job Summary
We are seeking an Animal Compliance Specialist to support animal research compliance operations, documentation review, and regulatory tracking. This role will work closely with research teams and compliance leadership to ensure animal research activities meet established regulatory and organizational requirements.
Responsibilities
- Review IACUC protocols, Vertebrate Animal Section (VAS) documents, approval letters, and compliance documentation.
- Support researchers with animal compliance requirements and documentation updates.
- Track submissions, approvals, renewals, and compliance action items.
- Maintain accurate, audit-ready compliance records.
- Monitor protocol, license, and approval expiration dates.
- Identify routine compliance issues and escalate complex matters as needed.
- Assist with improving compliance processes, SOPs, templates, and guidance materials.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in animal research compliance or related research administration.
- Experience reviewing IACUC protocols or animal use documentation.
- Knowledge of OLAW requirements and AAALAC-accredited programs.
- Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.
Salary : $28 - $30
