The Manager - Product Design Engineer will lead the Product Design Engineering Group responsible for cable and ABF product design, qualification, materials, manufacturing processes, performance specifications, and cost reduction.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise Product Design Engineers and assign project activities.
- Direct product design and development projects for cables, ABF products, and materials.
- Review and approve design documents, material specifications, test reports, and trial production requests.
- Develop product qualification test plans and incoming material test requirements.
- Coordinate material, product, and process trials through final qualification.
- Provide technical support to Production, QA, Marketing, and other departments.
- Develop and qualify new materials and secondary vendors.
- Conduct product design, performance, and cost analysis.
- Investigate and identify new cable materials for applications, reliability, processibility, and cost reduction.
- Manage project schedules and budgets.
- Review customer and vendor technical specifications and maintain technical communication.
- Prepare design reviews and technical reports and participate in industry standard activities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent college/university education in a relevant technical or professional field.
- Minimum 10 years of industry experience.
- Strong communication skills with subordinates.
- Experience with product design, materials, manufacturing processes, testing, and qualification.
