Your Role:

  • Conducting geotechnical field investigations and site assessment.
  • Conducting QC/QA construction monitoring and materials testing.
  • Performing laboratory testing of soils, concrete and asphalt.
  • Planning and directing foundation investigations for commercial, industrial, and high-rise developments.
  • Preparing proposals, cost estimates, and scheduling of projects.
  • Preparing reports and technical memos.
  • Completing shallow and deep foundation design.
  • Performing and reviewing slope stability analyses and designs. 
  • Conducting and reviewing pavement evaluations and completing pavement designs.
  • Field installation and monitoring of instrumentation, analyzing field data, and preparing detailed engineering reports and recommendations.
  • Coordinating and conducting instrumented pile load tests, including analysis and reporting.  
  • Communicating with clients and sub-consultants and internal stakeholders.
  • Conducting activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
  • Pursuing continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
  • Additional duties as required.
     


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of an Undergraduate degree in Geotechnical, Geological, or Civil Engineering.
  • A minimum of 1 to 2 years’ experience in a geotechnical engineering capacity is preferred.
  • Experience in a consulting engineering environment is considered an asset.
  • Experience establishing and maintaining client relationships including business development. 
  • Experience in site reconnaissance and investigations to assess site suitability for development of buildings, subdivisions, small dams; slope stability assessments.
  • Experience in geohazards identification and assessment, analysis, and mitigation/remediation.
  • Experience in laboratory testing, construction monitoring and materials testing.
  • Experience writing internal and external reports and proposals.
  • Strong people skills and an ability to work in a team environment.
  • Experience using GeoStudio Products and MS Office is essential.
  • Experience using FEM software such as Plaxis will be considered an asset.
  • Experience using LPile, GRLWEAP, GTILT, and AutoCAD will be considered an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).
