What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physical Therapist Assistant Outpatient position at In Touch Therapy?
Work Inside Physical Therapy, Not Around It
You chose this profession to be part of real clinical care.
To understand movement. To apply treatment with purpose. To help patients improve in a way that actually lasts.
But not every clinic allows that.
Too many PTA roles become routine. Repetitive. Disconnected from the actual clinical reasoning that drives outcomes.
That is not what we do here.
At In Touch Therapy in South Hill, Virginia, everything is built around Physical Therapy first.
Plans of care are intentional. Clinical direction is clear. And your role as a PTA is to execute, progress, and reinforce that care at a high level.
You are not just assisting.
You are part of delivering Physical Therapy the way it is meant to be practiced.
Why This Role Feels Different
This is a clinic where Physical Therapists lead and PTAs grow into stronger clinicians because of it.
You are part of a system designed for outcomes, not volume.
- Every treatment is tied directly to a PT-driven plan of care, not repetition
- Your clinical decision-making is developed through real patient interaction
- You are supported and trusted to appropriately progress patients
- You see the direct impact of your work on patient outcomes
This is where PTA work becomes clinical, intentional, and meaningful again.
One-on-One Care That Builds Real Skill
You cannot grow as a clinician if you are constantly rushed or split between patients.
Here, you are given the time to do it right.
- One patient at a time with full focus on care delivery
- No juggling multiple patients or rushed transitions
- Time to refine cueing, positioning, and movement quality
- Ability to observe, adjust, and respond in real time
The result is simple.
- Stronger patient outcomes
- Better patient relationships
- Higher confidence in your clinical ability
Orthopedic Physical Therapy Done With Purpose
This is a true outpatient orthopedic clinic built around movement, function, and long-term results.
You will actively contribute to:
- Exercise progression based on patient response and functional goals
- Movement quality, stability, and strength development
- Reinforcement of proper motor patterns between visits
- Patient education focused on long-term independence
You are not repeating routines.
You are helping patients move better, feel better, and stay better.
A PTA Role Built on Clinical Respect
In this clinic, your role is clear and valued.
You are trusted to:
- Carry out and advance PT-directed plans of care with precision
- Monitor patient progress and communicate meaningful updates
- Collaborate directly with Physical Therapists on treatment strategy
- Drive consistency and progression between evaluations
Your role is simple.
Deliver great care. Reinforce the plan. Help patients improve.
What You Will Do
As a Full-Time Physical Therapist Assistant, you will:
- Deliver skilled outpatient orthopedic care under PT direction
- Progress individualized treatment plans based on patient response
