What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool Director position at In The Zone Child Care Services?
OVERVIEW
The incumbent must have good organizational and people skills. The incumbent must have the ability to maintain budgets set by
the Director of Childcare Services and Director of Operations. The incumbent will implement and evaluate the Infant and
Preschool programs. The incumbent will oversee and direct his/her staff. The incumbent will be responsible for all other duties
assigned.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain the organization of an innovative preschool program as well as update and maintain all files and paperwork necessary to
maintain a child care license according to the MS Child Care Regulations set by the MS Health Department.
- Evaluate each staff member at 90 days and then annually and make necessary adjustments in order to remain successful as well as
competitive with other childcare programs.
- Supervise all staff.
- Maintain open, consistent, and effective communication with parents, providing parent education, assistance, and support as needed.
- Recruit, train, and schedule all necessary training of staff.
- Ensure that staff are taking inventory and recommending purchases when necessary.
- Ensure that staff are completing weekly classroom inspections.
- Ensure lesson plans are turned in weekly and implemented in the classroom.
- Ensure that staff keep the facility clean and sanitary at all times as well as responsible for ensuring the staff cleaned and sanitized the
facility at the end of the day.
- Understands and demonstrates attendance and punctuality are vital.
- Provide growth and development opportunities for each participant.
- Assist in the development and implantation of all aspects of program schedule.
- Be familiar with emergency procedures and follow them.
- Ensure childcaren are always supervised and proper adult to child ratios are maintained as required by the State of Mississippi.
- Ensure the facility is properly secured at the end of the day.
- Set a good example in promptness, manners, language, health and appearance.
- Enforce In The Zone policies and procedures at all times.
- The ability to perform any other tasks that would be related to the operation of In The Zone.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- High School diploma, GED, or higher or currently enrolled
- Ability to adapt to the center's needs and hour
- Current child/adult CPR and First Aid certification or willing to obtain
- Credentialed Director in according with MS Health Dept Child Care Regulations
- Must be eligible and pass MSDH Background Check
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Walking, squatting, climbing, hearing, swimming, standing for periods longer than one hour, pushing (50 lbs.), lifting (50
lbs.), sitting, pulling (50 lbs.), clear speech and good vision
- Must be able to lift and move In The Zone equipment properly as need arise.
