JOB SUMMARY:

Kids Zone (KZ) team members play a vital role in creating a safe, welcoming, and fun environment for our little members (ranging in age from 3 months to 12 years old). With a genuine passion for working with children, our KZ team engage kids through age-appropriate games, activities, and creative play, ensuring every visit is a positive and memorable experience. While parents enjoy their well-deserved “me time,” our attentive and energetic KZ team provides exceptional care, builds meaningful connections with each child, and maintains a clean, secure, and enriching space that kids love to return to.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain a safe environment through correct implementation of safety policies and procedures
• Observe and monitor the activities of all children in the Kids Zone
• Organize and participate in recreational activities, as appropriate
• Read to children, teach simple painting, drawing, handicrafts, and songs
• Engage children in activities that promote healthy habits
• Responsible for following and adhering to the In-Shape Clean Approach
• Organize and store toys and materials to ensure order in activity areas
• Support social development, encourage understanding of others and positive self-concepts with all children
• Ensure only authorized personnel enter the Kids Zone area
• Ensure all policies and procedures of the Kids Zone are followed by Staff, Children, and the Parent/Members
• Resolve concerns/problems ensuring our members’ needs are met and company guidelines are followed
• Assist in building our community of members through a consistent member experience
• Assists in other areas of the club when needed
• During the season, where applicable, monitor the pool and slide as needed and implement slide rules at all times
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities assigned

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Pre-school or day care experience desired
• Flexible/positive attitude in meeting and exceeding our members’ expectations
• Patience and creative energy to work with children as well as a high tolerance for childhood behaviors
• Physical stamina to care for groups of energetic young children
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, work well under pressure and time constraints and displays positive behavior in all member interaction - kids and parents
• Attend and participate in required meetings and trainings as needed
• Willing and able to work a flexible shift: evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Bilingual skills a plus
• Current CPR or ability to pass CPR certification within 60 days of hire date
• Must be Trustline registered; In-Shape will facilitate this upon acceptance of offer of employment
• First Aid Training, required only at clubs with pool slides

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently required to walk and stand up to 8 hours/day and/or sit for extended periods of time. Team members may be exposed to cleaning chemicals or airborne particles and will be required to wear designated PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as directed. Team members are occasionally required to use hands and fingers for handle or feel; occasional reach, push and pulling with arms and hands; occasional climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and occasional reach and twist, including side-to-side movements. The team member may be required to occasionally lift, carry or move up to 25 pounds and may seldom be required to lift, carry or move 26-50 pounds.
