What are the responsibilities and job description for the IHSS Caregiver position at In Home Support Services (IHSS)?
Position Type: Part-Time (IHSS Program)
Schedule: 26 hours per week, with potential for additional hours.
Preferred Candidate: Compassionate and experienced female caregiver
We are seeking a dependable and compassionate IHSS Caregiver to provide part-time assistance to a female recipient who is bed and wheelchair-bound. The ideal candidate is experienced, professional, and dedicated to providing quality in-home support.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Daily blood pressure monitoring
- Bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene assistance
- Basic meal preparation
- Support with bladder and bowel incontinence care
- Mobility exercises to aid in rehabilitation
- Assistance with bed-to-wheelchair transfers using a transfer board
- Medication assistance (pre-packaged medications—caregiver will retrieve and assist recipient at designated medication times, and update the medication log as needed)
Qualifications:
- Must be reliable, professional, and punctual
- Prior caregiving experience is required
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including safe patient transfers
- Compassionate, patient, and respectful demeanor
- Must be enrolled in California’s In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) Program
