Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor patients’ health status by observing vital signs, mental state, and overall condition; report changes to healthcare professionals promptly
- Administer medications following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality
- Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary needs and assist with meal planning and cooking as required
- Support clients with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or transfer belts, ensuring safety during movement
- Maintain detailed documentation of care provided, patient observations, and any incidents in compliance with healthcare standards
- Perform light housekeeping tasks like cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment to promote hygiene and comfort
Skills
- Proven experience in home & community care or assisted living environments; group home or nursing home experience is highly valued
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring
- Familiarity with specialized care such as Alzheimer’s care, dementia management, memory care, autism support, and hospice care
- Ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities or other special needs; experience with residents’
is a plus - Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality
- Competence in using caregiving tools such as Hoyer lifts and performing heavy lifting safely when necessary
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with healthcare teams, patients, families, and social workers
- Ability to perform basic cleaning tasks to maintain a hygienic environment; flexibility to handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently
