About Our Program
We are a small, home-based preschool seeking a reliable, experienced, and enthusiastic childcare assistant to join our team!
Our program emphasizes learning through play, hands-on experiences, exploration, and nurturing relationships. We take pride in creating a warm, positive environment where children feel safe, supported, and excited to learn.

What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is confident working with young children, learns quickly, and can take initiative without needing constant direction.
Our ideal candidate is someone who:
- Is dependable and consistent. Reliable attendance, punctuality, and a commitment to the scheduled hours are essential.
- Has previous childcare experience. Experience working in a licensed childcare or early childhood education setting is strongly preferred.
- Takes initiative. Recognizes what needs to be done and jumps in without waiting to be asked.
- Is a quick learner. Can learn classroom routines, follow established procedures, and apply feedback effectively.
- Has good instincts with children. Understands age-appropriate expectations, responds thoughtfully to children's needs, and prioritizes their health and safety.
- Can multitask. Is comfortable managing multiple responsibilities in an active, fast-paced childcare environment.
- Brings a positive attitude. Contributes to a happy, encouraging atmosphere for both children and coworkers.
- Communicates professionally. Is receptive to guidance, respects established policies, and works cooperatively with others.
- Enjoys being engaged and active. Is willing to get on the floor, play, participate in activities, and interact meaningfully with children.
Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus, but not required.
Daily Responsibilities
- Actively supervise and engage with children throughout the morning.
- Support developmentally appropriate, play-based learning experiences.
- Assist with daily routines, transitions, meals, diapering, and toileting as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
- Help prepare activities and replenish classroom supplies.
- Follow established childcare licensing regulations, health and safety procedures, and program policies.
- Anticipate classroom needs and assist wherever needed.
- Work collaboratively with the lead educator to ensure a smooth, positive day.
Schedule: Monday, Thursday, Friday, 7:30 AM–11:30 AM. 7:30am-4:00pm available for Fridays
Requirements:
- Previous professional childcare experience required.
- Consistent availability during scheduled hours.
- Ability to meet applicable New Mexico childcare employment requirements.
- Background check and fingerprints is mandatory.
- Ability to actively supervise children and perform the physical duties of the position.
- CPR Certified (adult and pediatrics) within 1 month of hire
- Mandatory health and safety training within 6 months of hire and yearly there after.
- Additional training is required yearly.
Our Hiring Process
We're intentional about finding the right fit for our small preschool team.
Qualified applicants will participate in an initial Phone interview, followed by a paid working interview for selected candidates. This gives us an opportunity to see how you interact with children, approach daily routines, and work within our classroom environment. It also gives you a chance to experience our program and determine whether it's a good fit for you.
