About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Operations Director – Mission Critical to lead and oversee all aspects of Mission Critical construction operations within a commercial general contracting environment. This executive-level role is responsible for driving operational excellence, managing high-performing teams, ensuring project success, and maintaining strong client relationships while delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget.
The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in Mission Critical construction, strong leadership capabilities, and a proven track record of managing large-scale projects and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Mission Critical construction operations, ensuring successful project execution from planning through completion.
- Manage and mentor project managers, site supervisors, and field teams to drive performance and accountability.
- Oversee project budgets, schedules, resource allocation, and financial performance.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, quality standards, and industry best practices.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and key stakeholders.
- Collaborate with procurement and project teams to optimize labor, materials, and equipment utilization.
- Provide regular operational, project, and financial reporting to executive leadership.
- Travel as needed for client meetings, project site visits, and industry trade shows.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- 10 years of construction project management experience with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven success leading Mission Critical construction projects and operations.
- Strong knowledge of commercial construction processes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with construction management software and project management tools.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
Preferred Certifications
- PMP (Project Management Professional)
- CCM (Certified Construction Manager)
