What You'll Do

• Independently manage a litigation caseload through all phases of the case lifecycle
• Take and defend depositions, including party, witness, and expert depositions
• Draft and argue motions
• Attend hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and court conferences
• Manage written discovery and discovery strategy
• Conduct legal research and prepare case evaluations and litigation strategies
• Participate in all phases of trial preparation and courtroom advocacy
• Work directly with clients on case management, reporting, and litigation strategy
• Collaborate with experienced litigators and partners on complex matters

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
• Licensed to practice law in Michigan or eligible for admission
• 4-12 years of civil litigation experience
• Experience managing litigation matters independently
• Strong writing, analytical, and advocacy skills
• Deposition experience preferred
• Experience handling motions, hearings, and litigation strategy
• Client-facing experience preferred
• Trial experience is welcomed but not required
• Transportation, trucking, insurance defense, premises liability, or related litigation experience is valued but not required

Billable Expectations

The annual billable hour target is 1,920 hours, supported by a strong and consistent pipeline of litigation work and a collaborative team environment designed to help attorneys succeed.
