Position Overview
The Inventory Clerk receives incoming materials, performs the necessary transactions and delivers material to proper locations. This person also issues inventory to kits for manufacturing and individuals via requisition sheets. This person supports purchasing, inventory, shipping, and related administrative functions to help ensure smooth operations and timely material availability. This role works closely with multiple departments, including accounting, and production.
Responsibilities
- Receive incoming inventory and materials
- Verify receipt documentation matches purchase orders and resolve any discrepancies as needed
- Put inventory away and keep inventory locations neat and organized
- Issue inventory to manufacturing personnel in kits and via requisition sheets
- Perform inventory cycle counts, review controls and reconcile computer generated reports
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings and data accuracy
Qualifications
- Experience with inventory receiving required
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds and regularly required to sit or stand, reach, bend and move about the facility
- Strong Excel skills; proficiency in Word and Outlook preferred
- Experience with Costpoint software a plus
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
