IMS Technology Services is looking for a new Business Development Representative to develop the firm's national growth strategies with new customers in the mid-size and large Association market. This is an outstanding opportunity for someone with sales experience and proven results in new business development for a technology services company in the live events space. The incumbent will report directly to the Vice President of Business Development and work through our Linwood, Pa. Office. This role is expected to effectively connect often with other IMS managers and team members, such as the Account Executives, Sales Managers, Production Managers, Operations Managers, and Creative Team.

Position Accountabilities and Expectations:

  • An independent, driven, and motivated thought leader expected to drive business opportunities by finding prospective association clients.
  • Directly responsible for identifying $2,000,000 of the company’s revenue as defined as new business revenue derived from Clients that have not done business with IMS within the past five years. 
  • A hunter with a strong ability and desire to prospect and identify qualified new business opportunities, the competitive nature of those opportunities, and client budget.
  • Comfortable and experienced with executive sales presentations and negotiations with Senior level executives in mid-level to large associations.
  • Develop quantifiable value propositions to prospects based on their individual needs.
  • Make accurate and competent recommendations to the Vice President of Business Development for proper prospect projections based on the potential pipeline.
  • Contribute to marketing materials, collaterals, advertising, and sponsorships that are intended to help grow the Business Development Representatives’ pipeline.
  • Promote the highest quality image of IMS with employees, customers, vendors, and the community.
  • Make suggestions based on awareness of industry trends and maintain focus on company growth goals to achieve a superior position in the industry.
  • Participate actively in regular team and one-on-one meetings to ensure their success.
  • Maintaining company training protocols and documentation monthly, and supplying to management regularly and as required, to track the growth and performance of each member of the Sales Team, to their annual business plan, to improve performance towards achieving their sales quotas and goals.
  • Follow IMS security requirements and established procedures to ensure compliance with all company policies.
  • To craft an annual business plan, including realistic forecasts, identifying prospects, plan for growing new association customer base, realistic costs of sales to operate to meet the plan, and sales marketing programming.
  • To follow and fulfill the necessary Activity Plan on behalf of IMS Sales Standards that include minimum monthly standards for quoted business and closed business, monthly calls and engagements, new business opportunities and new $100k Accounts. 
  • Attend appropriate industry organization meetings, including monthly events. 

What will you bring?

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a technology sales position 
  • Demonstrated experience cultivating new business relationships and new business opportunities.
  • Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven proficiency in computer skills in CRM database management (Sales Force), adopting proprietary activity tracking systems and innovative technologies to achieve sales goals.
  • Successful record of accomplishment supporting building and growing networking opportunities for the development of new business.
  • Demonstrated success in creating social media plans that support the development of new business opportunities; with noted ability to effectively manage and execute them.
  • Proven ability to quantify, show, and validate value to clients continually.
  • Customer-focused mindset; experience collaborating directly with customers with a wide range of professional sophistication.
  • Significant sales experience mid-size and large associations. 
  • Excellent salesmanship, communication, and interpersonal skills; a consummate networker. Ability to connect with colleagues and customers at all levels, by professional competence, integrity, and personal style.
  • Ability to show empathy, enabling open, transparent, and effective dialog with customers.
  • Drive, motivation, passion, and an exceptional personal work ethic. Able to work autonomously in a dynamic environment.

  • Excellent interpersonal, customer interface, communication, and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to listen, extrapolate information and leverage resources to effectively provide.

  • Work requires a willingness to work a flexible schedule.
  • Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation

Salary : $80,000 - $125,000
