About the Role
A leading aerospace and defense manufacturer is looking for a Senior Quality Engineering Specialist to support and strengthen its AS9100-certified Quality Management System. This is a high-impact role that works across engineering, production, supply chain, and customer-facing teams to drive quality, prevent defects, and push continuous improvement.

What You’ll Do
- Support and maintain the company’s AS9100 Quality Management System and compliance processes.
- Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Production, Supply Chain, Finance, Sales, and Customer Service
- Analyze data, assess processes, and recommend improvements to strengthen manufacturing quality.
- Report quality trends, issues, and metrics to leadership
- Lead RCCA activities using tools like Fishbone and 5-Whys
- Investigate nonconformances and customer complaints, determine root cause, and drive corrective action
- Execute Failure Reports, CARs, SCARs, and customer complaint responses
- Coordinate Material Review Board activities
- Conduct internal audits and support third-party audits, FAI reports, and customer source inspections.
- Serve as the primary interface to customers and suppliers for quality-related matte.rs
- Lead supplier evaluations, on-site audits, prototype revi,ews and follow-up on supplier corrective actions
- Support employees and inspectors on quality questions, proced,ures and documenta.tion
- Create and update Quality Management System processes as needed
- Use dimensional measurement equipment (OGP and handheld devices)
- Support any other quality assignments as needed
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering plus 6 years of experience, OR a graduate degree with 4 years of experience
- Strong experience in an AS9100 environment
- Experience conducting AS9102 First Article Inspections
- Familiarity with microelectronics, mechanical dr,awings and tolerances
- Experience with Mil-Std-883, IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001
- Strong communication skills, both with customers and internal teams
- Experience with government projects and DCMA audits
- Proven ability to build and sustain an AS9100-compliant QMS
- Strong analytical, problem-,solving and documentation skills
Preferred
- Lean Six Sigma experience
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance

Salary : $100,000 - $140,000
