What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Supervisor position at IMS Recruiting?
We are partnering with a well-established aerospace and defense manufacturer to hire a Production Supervisor to lead day-to-day manufacturing operations, maintain production schedules, and drive safety, quality, and continuous improvement on the shop floor.
This role manages a single shift of hourly employees and plays a hands-on role in meeting daily production, yield, and safety targets.
What You’ll Do
- Lead daily production activities to meet schedule, quality, and safety goals
- Supervise and develop hourly manufacturing employees
- Enforce safety, FOD, and quality standards (AS9100 environment)
- Coordinate closely with Production Planning on schedule changes and priorities
- Troubleshoot production, equipment, and material flow issues
- Track and report departmental KPIs and improvement initiatives
- Support continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and cost reduction efforts
- Conduct training, audits, and team meetings
What We’re Looking For
- 2 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing
- Experience in aerospace, defense, or regulated manufacturing environments
- Working knowledge of AS9100 and quality-driven production
- Strong communication skills with both hourly and salaried teams
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and basic production reporting
- Lean manufacturing experience preferred
- DoD clearance preferred
Salary : $95,000 - $115,000
