SUMMARY
Carry out inspection tasks across Receiving Inspection for electrical and mechanical parts, as well as throughout In-process and Final product stages. Assess, audit, and document the quality standards of both incoming and outgoing goods, confirming fulfillment of customer quality expectations—such as fit, form, function, appearance, and punctual shipment delivery. Identify and segregate nonconforming items, ensuring all associated documentation and data entry for non-conformance reports are completed with accuracy. Adhere to procedures outlined in IPC 600, IPC 610, and/or J-Std-001 (latest versions), following Quality System work instructions. Review and interpret a range of customer and technical documents—including drawings, blueprints, Bills of Material (BOM), datasheets, specifications, and related materials—as needed for inspection duties. Overtime work may be required. Train across departments and take on additional assignments as directed by Quality Supervisor.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Verify requirements are met by completing first article/piece inspections at the start of each production run; report any material, process, or design discrepancies; collaborate with teams including Production, Inside Sales, Engineering, Program Management, and customer representatives.
Conduct roving sample inspections and quality audits in assigned areas in accordance with documentation packages—such as BOMs, drawings, and procedures—to ensure continual delivery of acceptable goods; check for conformity to customer documents and indicate any in-process concerns using IPC workmanship standards; work closely with Production and Engineering staff.
Complete comprehensive final inspections, confirming quality standards for materials and processes are satisfied before products ship to customers; record all acceptances and discrepancies; coordinate with Production, Inside Sales, Engineering, Program Management, and customer representatives.
Perform visual and mechanical inspections in Receiving Inspection and related departments, confirming incoming Turn-Key material and outsourced services meet quality requirements; maintain quality records to support evaluation of both vendor and internal process performance; research customer history and utilize experience for judgment-based part approvals; use independent initiative and discretion when addressing challenges outside specified responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience inspecting PCBA within contract manufacturing or EMS settings
Skilled in applying IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 standards
Able to interpret and understand drawings, BOMs, and work instructions
At least one year of quality inspection experience in high technology organizations
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
Previous manufacturing exposure, knowledge of soldering, and component recognition
Demonstrates fundamental reading, writing, and math abilities; can compose proper correspondence
Reads, writes, and follows written and auditory instructions accurately
Capable of correctly documenting inspection and testing data
Physically able to repetitively lift, stand, climb, bend, and perform other movements in a manufacturing environment
Skilled with measuring hand tools, test lights, and working under a microscope
Preferably familiar with ISO9001, AS9100, or ISO13485 protocols
Adheres to company guidelines, policies, and procedures
