IMS Care Clinic is currently searching for a professional, compassionate, and knowledgeable individual to fill the position of Referral Coordinator in our Cardiology clinic in Avondale. The Referral Coordinator is responsible for the administration and coordination of referrals, maintaining updated documentation, and submitting requests to the different specialty medical clinics.
Responsibilities:
- Performs referrals and authorizations in timely, effective and efficient manner
- Implements eligibility verification as part of the referral process
- Ensures that all pertinent information and the actual referral are directed to the proper office
- Follows through with pending referrals in a timely manner
Requirements:
- 2 years experience preferred
- Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred
- Knowledge of ICD, CPT codes, and insurance carriers claim requirements
- Excellent communication skills-both written and verbal
- Good computer skills and being familiar with Microsoft (Word and Excel)
- EMR (Athena) experience a plus
Education
- High School Diploma or GED
